Awards for The Babysitter
Maureen received an award for The Babysitter from a contest held by Art and Beyond. The Babysitter is a digital art photograph of two yearling Spanish Barb horses with a mare in the middle. The mare was the babysitter for a group of yearlings at the Dripping Spring Ranch in New Mexico. The Babysitter was cropped out of a photograph of a larger group of yearlings titled The Yearlings.
Awards for The Yearlings
February 2014, digital fine art piece by Maureen Kirk-Detberner received a Special Merit Award in the 3rd Annual All Photography Art Exhibition held by the online Gallery Light Space and Time in February 2014.
Maureen photographed this group in the spring of 2010 in Mule Creek, NM. This image was processed in Photoshop using many layers of color and textures to give it a more painterly effect. The Yearlings can be purchased in my Etsy shop.
Awards for Boss Mare
Maureen’s first award was for Boss Mare the 2011 Livestock Conservancy’s photo of the year. Boss Mare is a fine art photograph of two Spanish Barb mares at the Dragoon Mountain Ranch. To learn more about the Spanish Barb horse, visit the Spanish Barb Horse Association’s website.
