Halie Paint Horse Photography

This is an image of Halie she a beautiful American Paint horse.  She is owned by my neighbor up the street.  She rides Haley on the trails in our neighborhood.  I was by for a visit and to catch up on the latest and happened to have my camera in the car.  As my friend was grooming her paint horse Halie, I decided to take a few photos.   Halie has such a lovely soft eye.  She was enjoying her grooming and I was able to get a nice photo of her.  This image is available...

Horse in Black and White at the SAAG Gallery

My equine fine art photograph of a winter horse in black and white is showing at the Southern Arizona Arts Guild’s Gallery!  I titled this image “Winter Thoughts.”  The photo is of a chestnut horse that looks like he is thinking about something. I pushed the details up on this image to show the horse’s winter coat.  Then I decided that it would look more like winter if it was a horse in Black and White. You can see a reflection of the horse corral...

Arabian Horse Eye

This Arabian Horse eye photo happened quite by accident.  I was commissioned to take a photo of a gray quarter horse’s eye.  The customer had seen my horse eye photos on Facebook.  She wanted a photo of her friends horse’s eye as a Christmas present. Palomino Mystery

My latest creation “Palomino Mystery.” This image was one I took in January or February a few years back. There were other horses in the original photo but I cropped them out. To me the subject was the Palomino horse’s eye. The lovely curve of his neck also added to the composition. I also liked all the texture of the horse’s winter coat and his lovely mane and forelock. All in all this image grabbed me. As I started to work on it I decided to...

Dressage Image

This Dressage image caught my eye. I was reviewing and organizing image files and this one stood out.   The lovely arch of the horse’s neck and the clarity of the eye made the image interesting. This is the original unedited image. First I cropped the Dressage image to  16″ x 20″ size. I cropped out the white shirt of the rider.  I also cropped off the right side of the background.  In this crop the eye is in the top rule of thirds position.  This draws...

Horse Art – Waiting To Punch In

My latest horse art fine art image is “Waiting To Punch In.”  This equine art image is of a group of horses waiting for their riders.  I took this photo years ago at Pusch Ridge Stables.  I decided to do treat this image as a black & white with sepia toning. There was something timeless about this photo. It is remarkable how these horses stand so quietly while they are tacked up.  I never tie my horses next to each other for for very long.  I’m sure...
