Cam’s family asked me to take his senior portraits in a setting that fit their life style. We discussed a couple of venues then decided to take he photos at the Empire Ranch Headquarters, near Sonoita, AZ. The family was going on a camping trip for the weekend and I would go up on Sat. for the photo session.
I had been at the Empire Ranch several times when I used to do endurance riding so I was familiar with the area. We also had attended a western event at the ranch headquarters a few years ago. It is a great setting with the old ranch house, several barns and outbuildings.
The weather was perfect warm in the low 70’s with some high clouds. Cam brought his pride and joy refurbished Bronco for the photo session! Unknown to Cam, his parents brought a beautiful Henry rifle that they had purchased as a remembrance of him earning his Eagle Scout rank. I got photos of his dad giving him the rifle and other photos of him posing with the rifle.
It was a wonderful photo session with Cam and I took some head shots of Cam’s mother for her professional portraits for work. It was a long drive but so worth the great photos we got.
