Fine Art Landscape Awards!

Posted on May 3, 2017

I feel so honored to have two of my photographs receive awards in the Light, Space and Time’s “Landscapes” 2017 Art Exhibition!  To quote Light, Space and Time:

“Your artwork is outstanding and you should be very proud that your work was chosen from 658 entries which were submitted from around the world.  At every chance you should try to promote your exhibition success.”

My fine art landscape digital art piece titled “Coming Home” was awarded a Honorable Mention and my other fine art landscape photograph “Red Roof on a Sunday” was awarded a Special Merit Award!  It is such a thrill to compete international art competition and receive recognition.

Lately I have been concentrating on my painting and it is always so exciting to have my fine art landscape photography work recognized.  As I grow as an artist it is a challenge to go between photography, painting and art crafts.

“Home Coming” is a digital photography piece that combined three images.  The background mage is of the White Water Draw, another is of the Sand Hill Cranes in the water and the third image is of the cranes in flight.  I so loved the sky in the background image.  The wonderful storm clouds just spoke to me.  Then I decided to add the cranes in the water.  I image them became more interesting.  But it wasn’t quite what I wanted.  I then searched my photographs and found some Sand Hill Cranes in flight photos.  After viewing many of the Sand Hill Cranes in flight photos I chose one and added it to the landscape.  Then I had what I thought was a very interesting landscape image.  I’m so glad that Light, Space and Time agreed!
