Wow what fun I had taking photos of Kacie. She was a natural model and I think she had fun too. On a beautiful fall day Kacie, her mom and I headed out to Ruby, AZ. Ruby is an old mining town in Southern Arizona not far from the international border.
When I asked Kacie were she wanted to take her senior photo session she wasn’t sure. At first she wanted Mount Lemon or even the Empire Ranch. I combed the internet for senior photo session ideas and sent her some poses I liked. Kacie decided she liked the photos taken by an old truck. Then we remembered that there was an old truck at Ruby. So Ruby it was.
The senior photo session started with photos on the truck. The old dump truck was very rusty and weathered. It provided a great backdrop for some fun photos.
We then moved on to an old adobe building. The weeds were tall and really added to the depth and texture of the finished photos. One of the ideas we got from the internet search of senior photos session was to add the graduation year to the images. I had always wanted to do a photo with the subject appearing multiple times in the same photo.
To accomplish this look I had to put my camera on a tripod. Once I had the camera set, I had Kacie pose in several different areas within the camera’s view. We put the numbers of 2016 on a small backboard. The numbers were drawn in different colored chalk. All in all this took the longest time to shoot.
I then picked out the four best poses and put them together in Photoshop. It was tricky to get the images spaced correctly. But the results were very cute.
Other poses were in the old school house in two of the rooms. The lighting was good and I didn’t have to use a flash. It was a very fun day and I’m very proud of the results of this senior photo session!
